After graduating from the University of Toronto’s Bachelor of Commerce program in 1982, John did his articling with Thorne Riddell (now KPMG) in their downtown Toronto office. He moved to McGovern Hurley Cunningham in 1984 to gain experience in small owner managed business taxation and accounting. He passed his CA exams while working with MHC in December 1985, and in October 2017 set up his own practice.
On January 1, 1995 he bought the practice of the late James Pascaris, CA eventually changing the firm name to Yoannou & Associates.
He has continued to focus on small businesses and their various corporate, personal, estate and HST issues.

Over 25 years of experience in public accounting specializing in owner managed businesses. I love working with business owners to make them more profitable, more productive and to help them reduce their taxes.
I graduated from Canadore College in 1993, received my CGA designation in 1998, and my CPA designation in 2014.
My public accounting career began with Yoannou & Associates in 1994. I started out as an accounting student and became a partner in 2014.
Volunteering has been an important part of my career. I volunteered with the CGA Toronto Association from 1998 to 2014, chairing various committees and organizing a number of seminars for CGA members. I also volunteered with the Toronto South CPA Association and held the position of president from 2018 - 2021.
